"Did you rike it?" -Hideo Kojima
Anyway, I don't have a PS3, so this game is off the menu...until I rake in some more dough anyway. Anybody here lucky enough to have the game? And if so, should I just go ahead and start workin' the street corners because it's so good my life is incomplete without it?

Haven't played it yet... but I do know someone that does. I'll ask him about him next time I see him... he's bound to have the game. Why else would you buy a PS3?

Why else would you buy a PS3? I was gonna say Tekken 6, but all the preview material I've seen makes me worry.

Hmm... Haven't seen any. At least he'll get Final Fantasy XIII and Darth Vader on Soul Calibur IV.

Alright pal, just caught up with my mate up here with a PS3... He says MS4 is a godly game, one of the best games he's ever played. However, he mentions that it took him 30+ hours to complete the first tim, then about 7 when you skipped all the cutscenes. Apparently, there are two cutscenes that clock in at about 90 minutes each...!!!
He also recommended Grand Theft Auto 4 -- although I'm skeptical about that one. And he says what he's played of Tekken 6 (in arcades) is brilliant.

I read a review in which the writer described the cutscenes as follows: "You might as well go take a pee break or make a sandwich or walk the dog, if you aren't interested in the story that much and when you come back, it will still be playing."
Apparently MGS 4 draws from EVERYTHING, and I do mean EVERYTHING in the Metal Gear Solid universe, it even references Metal Gear Solid 2: Solid Snake for the MSX2. Which is an impressive feat, made all the more impressive that if you pay attention, it all makes sense.

True. It apparently dies up every single thing from every corner of the Metal Gear universe, whilst telling its own story. Also, the cutscenes are actually cinematic effects not Otacon telling you about stuff that happened...
Go to gametrailers.com and click reviews if you wanna see a whole review. The site gives it a 9.3, I think. X-Play gave it 5-stars as well.

It's more a movie than a game, but it's a solid conclusion to the greatest story ever conceived (suck it, Illiad!).
Actually the ending is a little ham-fisted, but the final boos battle is the greatest fanboy wankfest anyone could imagine.
It's also a commentary on the rise of military action-based games.
